History

The school systems in the County consistently score well above the state average on standardized tests. Besides an excellent public school system, it also has some of the finest private schools in the country.

There are many major colleges and universities in the area, including Southern Connecticut State University and Yale University’s West Campus bioscience center. There are currently 44,981 students enrolled in local colleges and universities.
